Celebrate Thailand November Water Festival (Loy Krathong) with Center for International Affairs

Walailak Center for International Affairs invites you to celebrate Thailand’s November Water Festival “Loy Krathong” online.

Brief history about the water festival “Loy Krathong” in Thailand in November

Loy Krathong originated from an old Brahmin festival when respects are paid to water, a major source of all lives. The festival was adapted in Thailand to also show respect to Buddha. The word ‘krathong‘ refers to a small vessel or basket of flowers and ‘loy‘ means to float. Placing a krathong on the water is a way of letting go of negativity and bad luck.

For this online water fest celebration, we challenge you to spread your powerful campaign words, through your shared 3-minute self-made VDO clip, to the world your creative ideas of how best to show respect to the major source of life “Water” in order to sustain this essential resource for all generations to come. Let the fun begin on your end and we will send you prizes as rewards for the most liked clip. Rule details are shown below.
