Announcement of Walailak University on Suspension of Classes Due to the Spread of Covid-19
To comply with the order by the provincial governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat on “Urgent Measures to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19 in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province” dated 18 March 2020, requiring all educational institutions including universities, colleges, schools, and tutoring schools in the province, Walailak University wishes to announce that all classes have now been cancelled, beginning from 19 March until 1 April 2020. Other operations of the university continue on as normal.
It should also be noted that in an attempt to deal with the pandemic crisis, Walailak University has on 18 March 2020 put in place measures for teaching staff to offer lessons online, in compliance with the Order by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. The online teaching will commence on 2 April 2020 onwards.
To minimize further disruptions on teaching and assessment as much as possible, the Director of the Center for Educational Services (CES) is charged with rescheduling academic calendar for Academic Semester 3/2562 (2019) (trimester system) and Academic Semester 3/2562 (2019) (semester system), in consistent with university rules and regulations.
The university wishes to emphasize that its Management is monitoring the COVID-19 situation very closely and will, as always, keep the Walailak University community, including the University personnel, students and their parents/guardians informed.
