Walailak University’s campus is integrating smart technologies into social life, transportation, security, teaching, and learning. This is a campus being redesigned for 21st century needs and opportunities.
To promote effective learning, Walailak University offers smart classrooms. These technologies encourage increased interactions between students and instructors, enabling courses to meet the demands on contemporary higher education to promote active learning in the classroom.
Walailak University’s goal is to provide instructors and students with work ready environments in which they can pursue cutting-edge research and engage in active learning. Smart laboratories take advantage of advanced technologies in specialized fields to push the boundaries of what is possible.
Maintaining a safe and secure campus is integral to Walailak University’s mission and values. Security cameras monitor traffic entering and exiting the university grounds, building access, and common areas. These feeds are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by our security staff in the control room.
As part of our responsibility to the environment, Walailak University is increasingly moving to green energy. Electric shuttles now run throughout campus, connecting academic and residential areas with the outside city of Tha Sala. Our vision is for each successive incoming class to reduce dependence on private vehicles at the university.
To cut down on greenhouse emissions and efficiently use resources, Walailak University rooms will increasingly use smart sensors to detect building use and reduce energy consumption when facilities are inactive.
WU colorful dormitories, with a variety of room type options at affordable rent ranges (25 – 80 US Dollars per month), are conveniently located on campus, within a walking distance to the academic zones. All room types are designed for students’ quality living, with available coin operated washers, snack vending machines, and 24-hour convenient stores in close proximity.
The Center for Library Resources and Educational Media is designed to serve as Walailak University students’ intellectual space for their serious study and research and as their social gathering where they can enjoy their movies, music and digital media of all sorts. Advanced technology is also supported for library and interlibrary loans; online databases can be accessed off-campus. Facilities for private and group studies are provided to suit students’ different preferences.
Available to both the domestic and international law programs, moot court is where students can come to practice law, imitating real-life court proceedings. This hands-on teaching activity is but one of many ways in which Walailak University promotes activities and engagement in learning.
In addition to your mental growth, Walailak University wants to enable physical fitness. The sports complex is a newly renovated area that provides the facilities for multiple different fitness and competitive activities. Whether it be running, swimming, biking, or weight training, there are opportunities awaiting you.
The Sports Center maintains a futsal arena for those students seeking an opportunity for some competitive activity. The arena is lighted for evening play and is located near the fitness center and swimming pool.
Our Olympic-size pool is both designed for competitive events and kept ready for student training and recreational use. The complex also has a family pool. Both are located near the student dormitories and accessible by Walailak University’s electric shuttles.
At Walailak University’s fitness center, located near the outdoor courts and the swimming pool, all basic gym facilities for weight training, treadmills, stationary bicycles and barbell sets are available for all active students who can work individually or with a qualified trainer.
University canteens with a variety of affordable dishes, traditional Thai meals, halal food, vegetarian choices, are available both in the residential zone and in the academic zone. 24-hour convenient stores are also available for students’ convenient shopping throughout the campus. Several fancy coffee shops serve as vibrant kicks for private laptop work, meeting with friends and small group gatherings. Weekly open-air markets will also mesmerize all visitors with a multitude of food choices and appealing merchandizes of all sorts imaginable.
Current a popular landmark in Thailand, Walailak University Botanic Park serves as a huge fun camp ground area for all occasions of your own design. All visitors enjoy their excitement with its highlight of the towering skywalk where all climbers reach up to caress the top of the tallest mountain of Khao Luang piercing its emerald green ranges along the hind horizon of Walailak University. All adventurous learners are invited to explore several exciting learning laboratories, various exotic gardens of unique beauty, a spacious museum of natural history to be completed in the near future. It also welcomes all visitors in need of fresh air and serene environ during their leisure stroll or jogging exercises.
Officially launched in November 2021, Walailak University Hospital with its 540 inpatient units, also functioning as a teaching hospital for Walailak University’s School of Medicine, is a highly advanced healthcare with various specialist clinics in the upper south of Thailand. Students at Walailak University can be assured of their convenience in terms of quality healthcare services right on campus.
Covering over 3,500 acres, Walailak Univesrity’s pride of her green expanse, furbished with spectacular parks, various sorts of plant and animal farms, energy efficient buildings and transportation, sustainable irrigation system and waste disposal solutions, has been awarded, by UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, the best green university in the upper south of Thailand since 2021.
As her welcoming front living room, Walailak Park rolls its 50 acres of her breathtaking recreational lawn beauty to satisfy her companies from both near and far for all sorts of leisure desires.
