Walailak University Welcomes TICA Director-General for “TICA Roadshow” to Strengthen International Cooperation

January 16, 2025 — The Center for International Affairs (CIA), in collaboration with the School of Political Science and Public Administration at Walailak University, recently welcomed Mr. Chulawajue Narintrangkul na Ayudhya, Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), and his delegation for the 6th TICA Roadshow.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Diplomats

The morning session commenced with a warm welcome from Asst. Prof. Dr. Padungsak Suksa-ard, Vice President of Walailak University. As part of the roadshow, TICA hosted a special lecture series for students from the School of Political Science and Public Administration and the School of Liberal Arts.

  • “Development Diplomacy”: An insight into how international relations drive national progress.

  • “Volunteering Abroad”: A sharing session by “Friends from Thailand” (FFT) volunteers who recounted their experiences teaching the Thai language in Vietnam.

  • Career Paths in International Cooperation: Practical advice from TICA professional staff on pursuing careers in global affairs.

Empowering International Scholars

Walailak University currently hosts several scholars under the Thailand International Postgraduate Programme (TIPP). During the event, seven TIPP scholarship recipients met with the Director-General to discuss their academic journeys.

Additionally, a South Korean volunteer from the World Friends Korea program, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) shared a presentation on their life at Walailak University as a Korean language instructor, highlighting the supportive and vibrant campus environment.

The visit concluded with a luncheon hosted by the President of Walailak University at the University Guest House. Following the meal, the Center for International Affairs led a guided tour of the campus, showcasing the university’s world-class facilities and its readiness to host international students and distinguished guests from around the globe.
