International Students Embark on “Explore Nakhon Challenge: Discover the City”

International Activity

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT – Over 30 international students from Walailak University embarked on an exciting cultural immersion journey on Saturday, July 6, 2025, participating in the “Explore Nakhon Challenge: Discover the City” activity. The initiative aimed to foster a deeper understanding of Nakhon Si Thammarat’s vibrant local community and its rich multicultural heritage.

The morning session kicked off with the “Explore Nakhon Challenge,” a dynamic activity that saw students navigating the city to capture photographs of three significant landmarks: Nakhon Si Thammarat Train Station, Sahathai Plaza, and Thamon Market.

The Nakhon Si Thammarat Train Station, a historical gateway to the city since its opening in October 1914, offered students a glimpse into the region’s transportation history and its role as a key connection point.

Next, students explored Sahathai Plaza, a long-standing local department store, providing an insight into the modern commercial aspects and daily life of Nakhon Si Thammarat residents.

Finally, the challenge led them to Thamon Market, a bustling hub known for its authentic local atmosphere and a wide array of goods, reflecting the daily rhythms and diverse cultural influences within the community.

This engaging challenge was designed to encourage students to not only explore the physical landscape of Nakhon Si Thammarat but also to interact with and learn about the local community’s culture and appreciate the city’s unique blend of traditions and people. The Center for International Affairs hopes that such activities will enrich the international students’ experience and build stronger connections between them and their host city.
