Walailak University Welcomes 39 New International Students from 13 Countries

On June 19, 2025, the Center for International Affairs (CIA) at Walailak University organized an orientation event to warmly welcome 39 new international students from 13 countries, including Ethiopia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Vietnam, the United States, Nepal, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Cameroon, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Laos. The event took place at the Khao Luang Chamber, Cooperative Education Building.
The orientation was designed to help new students confidently begin their academic journey at Walailak University. It provided essential information about the campus life, cultural adaptation, visa regulations, and health insurance. The event was honored by a warm welcome from Asst. Prof. Dr. Patnarin Supakorn, Director of the Center for International Affairs.
To foster a friendly atmosphere and encourage students to get to know one another, the program included fun and interactive activities such as ice-breaking games and a Kahoot quiz, along with a WU Campus Tour and student interviews that offered valuable insights and tips from senior international students.
In the final part of the program, participants had the opportunity to explore key university landmarks such as the Sport Complex, Botanic Park, and the popular Bota Market, giving them a glimpse into real campus life and the surrounding community.
This orientation reflects Walailak University’s strong commitment to creating a warm, safe, and supportive learning environment—one that feels like a second home for international students from around the world.
