Explore local life

This report summarizes the successful implementation of the “Pink Dolphin Watching @ Khanom” activity organized by the Center for International Affairs on August 30, 2024. A total of 29 international students and faculty members participated in the full-day excursion, which provided a unique opportunity to experience Thailand’s natural beauty and foster a sense of community among the participants.

The Center’s staff led the group to Laem Pratap to board a longtail boat for dolphin watching. The boat departed from Laem Pratap pier and cruised around the beautiful Khanom Bay. The group then visited Hin Phup Pha, a unique rock formation in the middle of Khanom Sea, a rare geological phenomenon. Afterward, they visited Koh Nuea, an island with a freshwater pond, where they paid respects to a statue of Luang Pu Thuat standing on seawater.

After the boat activities, the group enjoyed a meal and admired the beauty of Sichon Beach before returning to Walailak University.

Based on feedback from the participating students and faculty, everyone was impressed by the beautiful natural scenery and was surprised to learn that there were such amazing places near the university. This activity provided a great opportunity for everyone to relax, make new friends, and enjoy the weekend together through various games and activities during the trip.
