Exchange student2026

On 19 September 2026, the Center for International Affairs (CIA) at Walailak University organized the “WU Cultural Snap: Discover Nakhon Si Thammarat” program. Designed specifically for WUiSemester exchange students, this immersive cultural trip aimed to deepen their appreciation of Southern Thailand’s rich heritage by bringing classroom learning to life through authentic, hands-on experiences.

The journey began at the Nakhon Si Thammarat City Museum, where international students explored historical exhibits detailing the ancient origins, art, and traditions of one of Thailand’s oldest cities. Following the museum tour, the group visited the vibrant Nakhon Si Thammarat City Wall Market, nestled beside the historic brick fortifications. Here, students fully immersed themselves in the lively community atmosphere, interacting with local vendors, tasting traditional Southern Thai treats, and discovering handcrafted goods.

A key highlight of the day was the “Old City Wall Photo Challenge,” an interactive activity that encouraged creative exploration. Working in teams, students completed photography tasks based on diverse cultural themes, such as historic landmarks, traditional Thai desserts, and iconic local products. This friendly competition not only tested their observation skills but also sparked lively interactions with local residents and fellow participants.

Through experiential learning, the event provided students with an unforgettable opportunity to connect with the local community, appreciate Thailand’s unique identity, and build lasting international friendships. This activity underscores Walailak University’s dedication to advancing campus internationalization, fostering intercultural understanding, and delivering a warm, globally minded education for students from around the world.
