Nakhon Si Thammarat, September 29, 2026 – Walailak University recently hosted Professor Emeritus Dr. Geoffrey A. Cordell, a distinguished expert from the University of Florida, USA, for an academic visit and an engaging collaborative session titled “WU–Professor Cordell Research Networking and Exchange on Natural Products and Medicinal Chemistry.” Held at the Khao Luang Chamber in the Cooperative Education Building, the event brought together researchers, faculty members, and academic leaders to explore advancing frontier research in natural products.

The session opened with an insightful presentation by Prof. Cordell on current breakthroughs, innovative methodologies, and global trends within natural products and medicinal chemistry. Following his talk, the Director of the Research and Innovation Institute of Excellence provided a comprehensive overview titled “Summary of WU’s Research on Natural Products and Medicinal Chemistry.” This presentation showcased Walailak University’s ongoing research initiatives, institutional capabilities, and recent milestones in drug discovery and bioactive compound isolation.
