Center for International Affairs hosted the International Movie ExtravaganZA and Speech Competition

On 17 July 2024 Center for International Affairs hosted the International Movie ExtravaganZA and Speech Competition for Thai and international students at the Mini Theater in the Library.

The event aimed to provide students with the opportunity to:

– Learn about different cultures

– Exchange perspectives

Develop their speaking, presentation, and critical thinking skills

The event included the following activities:

Screening of the inspirational film “Everything Everywhere All” at Once: This sci-fi comedy film explores the power of choices, consequences, and relationships. After watching the film, students had the opportunity to exchange their perspectives, thoughts, and experiences about the film in group discussions.

Students expressed their opinions on the topics “The Butterfly Effect: How Small Action Can Lead to Big Changes” and “The Power of Choices and the Impact of Parallel Lives” through speeches on stage.

The winner : Mr. Addul Mateen, international student from Pakistan, School of Agriculture and Technology

1st Runner up: Ms. Rehni Hussain, student from Bangladesh, Graduate School

Special award: Mr. Francis Walugembe, student from Uganda, School of Public Health

The International Movie ExtravaganZA and Speech Competition were a great success. In addition to gaining knowledge, experience, and friendship from participating in the event, the two scholarship students, Ms. Hila Awae and Ms. Nuha Nitima, from the School of Management, Logistics Management program, also had the valuable experience of being MCs at the event. This experience allowed them to not only practice the skills necessary for their studies and future careers at the Center for International Affairs, but also to make new friends and learn about different cultures.
