School of Science

In order to develop Thailand’s competitiveness in the long term according to the Thailand 4.0 policy of the government to enable Thailand to become a leader in the field of strength of the country, we cannot deny that knowledge of data science and artificial intelligence plays a very important role in managing big data, leading to the creation of highly accurate mathematical models for risk management in areas such as: Finance and Investment marketing planning social security including the public health of the country. With these reasons, the School of Science has collaborated with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) under the Erasmus+ project: Curriculum Development in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (International Programs) that supports academic strength research and create new body of knowledge in order to respond to national development strategies. The curriculum developed by the School of Science was officially approved by Office of the Permanent Secretary for Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation on March 12, 2021.

Offering study plans

All plans are 2-years program (4 semesters). Total credit hours required to complete the program is 39 credits. There are three study plans:

Type A1 -Thesis-Research

Type A2-Thesis-Research and Coursework

Type B – Independent Study and Coursework

The Master’s Degree Program in DS&AI at Walailak University (WU) is a Semester system. Therefore, we encourage the students to have their internship during the break after they finished the second semester of WU’s academic year; which is more convenient for them to proceed to their theses.
