Walailak University’s Internationalization Committee convened the Special Presidential Forum on WU Internationalization on Monday, 27 October 2025, from 13.30 to 15.30 hrs at the Mokhalan Meeting Room, 3rd floor, Prof. Dr. Wichit Srisa-an Building.

The meeting was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surin Maisrikrod, Vice President, with a special session led by President Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong. The forum discussed key strategies to advance the university’s internationalization efforts for 2026.

Reports included updates on the 2026 Schools’ Internationalization Plan presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Patharin Supakorn, mobility readiness surveys, and criteria for internationalization scores. Additionally, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kiki Juli Anggoro summarized outcomes from the SEA Teacher Program.

The committee also explored collaborations under ASEA-UNINET, participation of WU scholars in QS World University Rankings surveys, and cooperation with Azerbaijani universities for academic exchange and employer reputation assessments.

The meeting concluded with an open discussion on upcoming issues and strategic directions to further enhance Walailak University’s international profile.
