Research Symposium OverviewThe COVID-19 pandemic and related restrictions has posed significant challenges for supply chains globally. Companies have been faced with substantial business and operational disruptions, which has included everything from mitigating the effects of reduced supply, to managing disruptions to logistics suppliers, and indeed hurdles in meeting their own contractual obligations to customers. This has forced businesses to rethink and transform their local and global supply chains to overcome the current pandemic and be prepared for future disruptions. Fortunately, advances in current and new supply chain technologies are emerging that dramatically improve visibility across the end-to-end supply chain and minimize supply chain disruptions.The virtual research symposium provides a venue for academics and practitioners to together explore and strengthen our understanding of the challenges posed by the pandemic and the role of technologies in mitigating such challenges as well as the opportunities from supply chain digitization and rise of E-commerce. All scholars, practitioners and students across disciplines and fields with interest in supply chain, logistics and emerging technologies are encouraged to attend.
