During the COVID 19 pandemic situation, online and distance learning has dramatically increased. Many university and online learning platforms are offering free access to their services. The integration of information technology in education for a quality education has been mentioned and develops in many higher education sectors. Despite the challenge of reliable internet access and or technology struggle to participate in online learning, the online learning has already been successful transitions amongst many universities.

          At Walailak University, we pay high attention to develop our students with 21^st century skills and global citizen oriented. Center for International Affairs in corporation with School of Liberal Arts, School of Political Science and Laws, School of Science have expanded our international collaboration with trustful universities in Indonesia and China to hold the online classes for the future global citizen. We believed that in many fields and disciplines, students can take advantage of a broad range of online learning opportunities from our partner universities.

          Therefore, in academic year 2021, we accepted a group of students from our partner universities such as Xi’an University, China and Tadulako University, Indonesia to study and do a practicum internship with us via the online platform. Should the situation allow after the COVID pandemic, we also plan to send out our students to do their internship in China. The exchange students not only provided the international outlook to our university but also bringing in the culture, learning style, exchange international perspective, rising awareness of global citizen and bring in a global network to our community.

          The pandemic should not obstruct the development of education. In cooperation with our quality international partners to reach the goals of quality education and promote lifelong learning, reduce the inequality in education and to develop human capacity in higher education, Walailak University is striving toward international quality education.
