Center for International Affairs welcomes the delegation of UPNVJ, Jakarta, Indonesia to a summer exchange program at WU

The Center for International Affairs in collaboration with School of Accounting and Finance and School of Management welcomes executives, faculties, and exchange students from Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” (UPNVJ), Jakarta, Indonesia. The delegation was led by Dr.Praptiningsih, Vice president for Student Relations and Cooperation on a mission to visit WU and join a summer exchange program arranged as part of the SAFE/SM-FEB Summer School 2022: an INBOUND project between 1 and 12 August 2022. The program is aimed to foster exchange and learning of the cultures, languages, and overseas living, and also forge cooperation between Walailak University and UPNVJ. 

The opening ceremony took place on August 1st, 2022 at 09:00 with Associate Prof. Dr. Mullica Jaroensutasinee, Dean of the School of Languages and General Education representing on behalf of Associate Prof. Dr. Surin Maisrikrod, Acting Vice-President presiding over the ceremony. Joining the event were also Associate Prof. Dr. Siwarit Pongsakornrungsilp, Acting Dean of School of Management, Associate Prof. Dr. Jeerakiat Apibunyopas, Acting Dean of School of Accounting and Finance, Assistant Prof. Dr. Patnarin Supakorn, Acting Director of the Center for International Affairs (CIA), faculties, personnel and students of Walailak University at Khao Luang Meeting Room, Cooperative Education Building, Walailak University. 

On this occasion, Dr. Wasin Praditsilp, Lecturer of the School of Management, as head of the project revealed that the School of Accounting and Finance and the School of Management have established a solid collaboration in educational management and student activities with the Faculty of Economics & Business (FEB), UPNVJ, Indonesia to the degree leading to academic activities. The cooperation started with an intercollege lecturer exchange from the UPNVJ to teach in the accountancy course, followed by the student project, the SAFE-FEB Summer School 2022 organized between 23 May and 3 June 2022. A group of students from the School of Management joined a language and culture exchange activity in Indonesia which proved quite a success. Therefore, the UPNVJ’s visit is aimed to achieve the same purpose through academic sessions, and sightseeing activities around the university and Nakhon Si Thammarat province. In the future, both institutions are taking further collaborative initiatives on the teaching and administration levels through international conferences, research, and academic publications.
