Collaborative Meeting between CIA-SET, WU and Faculty of Informatic & Computing, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin UniSZA, Malaysia.

On Thursday, 18 August 2022, the Center for International Affairs (CIA) together with the School of Engineering and Technology organized a zoom discussion with Faculty of Informatic & Computing, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin UniSZA, Malaysia. The meeting mainly focused on academic collaboration, staff and student exchange and a joining of research collaboration. UniSZA proposed WU for research funding; a contribution of research grants was proposed for WU’s consideration if the two universities agreed to collaborate and set up a specific area of collaboration with mutual interest. The Faculty of Informatic & Computing Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin UniSZA, Malaysia proposed to visit WU in October 2022. The visit aim to discuss more details of collaboration and seek for MOU or MOA official signatory and ceremony. UniSZA achieved QS Asia at 501-550 while Walailak University achieved at 551-600. For THE (Times Higher Education), both universities weren’t yet achieved. Currently, UniSZA – Faculty of Informatic & Computing, having of 2 Full Professor, 10 Associate Professor while the School of Engineering and Technology, WU having only 1 Associate professor, 4 Assistant professor and none of full Professor.
