Insect Nutrition meeting

On 8 September 2022, Asst.Prof. Dr. Patnarin Supakorn, Acting Direct of Center for International Affairs and Ms. Nithiwan Promkeaw holding the online meeting with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manat Chaichan, lecturer of School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry and Dr. Matija Harcet, Laboratory of Molecular Genetics, Division of Molecular Biology, Ruđer Bošković Institute, Bijenicka cesta, Croatia to discuss the possible collaboration on research of edible insects
Dr. Matija Harcet have been working in the field of evolutionary and molecular biology, on the topic of the origin of multicellularity in the animal lineage. last several years, his focus has shifted to research and improvement of mass insect farming. The research project he proposes to do in collaboration with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manat Chaichan is centered on upcycling waste from palm oil production using insects. he had already arranged the preliminary research with a large Thai palm oil company in Krabi province.
The proposed line of research has a large potential for further development both in the direction of fundamental studies of insect biology and applied research in agriculture and animal science.
