The Collaborative discussion with College of Engineering, National Chung Cheng University (CCU), Taiwan

On 18 February 2022, Center for International Affairs hosted the collaborative discussion between School of Engineering and Technology (SET) and College of Engineering, National Chung Cheng University (CCU), Taiwan.

The representative from Walailak University including of Asst. Prof. Dr. Patnarin Supakorn, Acting Director of Center for International Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kamon Thinsurat, International Collaboration of SER, Asst. Prof. Dr. Attaso Khamwichit, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kessara Seneesrisakul, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nirundorn Matan, Asst. Prof. Dr. Warit Wipulanusat, Asst. Prof. Dr. Wichitpan Rongwong and Mr. Krit Funsian.

On the other hand, the representative from College of Engineering, CCU including of Prof. Dr. Guo-En Chang, Vice Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof.Dr. Pao-Ann Hsiung, Dept. of Computer Science & Information Engineering, Prof. Dr. Sung-Nien Yu, Head of Department of Electrical Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kun-Mo Lin,  Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Wen-Chien Lee, Dept.of Chemical Engineering and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Janne-Wha Wu, Dept. of Electrical Engineering.

CCU is the first public University founded after Taiwan’s economic boom in the 1980. The University currently consists of seven Colleges offering 29 Undergraduate Programs, 44 Master Programs, 29 Ph.D. Programs, 17 in-service Graduate Programs. The University has more than 960 faculty/staff members, and approximately 12,000 students. Meanwhile, the College of Engineering, established in 1989, hosts five departments and graduate institutes: the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Chemical Engineering, Department of Communications Engineering, and the Institute of Opto-Mechatronics.

Faculty members of the College have received recognition in various research fields and are active in publishing results in international and domestic journals, conference proceedings and patents. Many of them have achieved international and domestic research awards including NSC distinguished and outstanding research awards, NSC regular research awards, Chinese Engineering Society awards, IEE Fellows, IEEE Fellows, President of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, etc.

The discussion is gone smoothly. The conclusions of this meeting is both school agree to do the collaboration to enhance academic activities especially exchange of students, exchange of faculty members, joint research, lectures and workshops between the both school. After the discussion both party were agree to sign the MOU together for strengthen the academic collaboration and implement the global partnership strategy for the sustainable development goals.
